Bye Check-in Baggage!

I know, basically, as girl, we have a lot to bring when we go to travel. In this specific opportunity, I wanna talk about my first experience in traveling with plane by only bringing hand-carry baggage.

At that time, I was overthinking about many things, especially about my skincare, make up, hair tools, and then, the weight. Usually, with check-in baggage, there is no rule on what you should and shouldn't bring as long as your baggage is not over-weight. And as I always travel with my family, we always have check-in baggage. So, I didn't know exactly how I can survive traveling for 6 days with only one hand-carry baggage.

Here, some basic tips and hacks that I learned as a beginner traveller.

1. You have to know that you cannot bring a liquid stuff more than 100ml.

Moisturizer, face wash, cleanser, toner, essence, body lotion, how can I bring them?? These container say they all more than 100 ml. I cannot live without my skincare. What should I do?

Don't worry, your skincare can be with you anywhere you go!

First, not many people know that you can bring actually 1 Liter of liquid per 100ml.

So, you can bring each 100 ml of liquid stuff times ten. It is more than enough to bring your liquid stuff.

Second, how to bring your liquid stuff if it is more than 100 ml?

There are two options for this. Option one, you can buy travel size of your products, but basically, you don't want to spend more money only to buy this, and travel size is often hard to find.

We come to the option number two. Find a container that less than 100 ml. I think this tips is the basic one. You can use contact lens case to bring your face wash, mask, etc. One contact lens can save your skincare for 2-3 days. Depends on how much you use your products.

Or you can go to drug store and buy small bottle containers. There would be a lot of choices that you can choose.

And, the last resort is to use other product containers, for example, I want to bring my heimish clean balm (my holy grail) but it is more than 100ml, it is 125 ml. My heimish probably will be confiscated in the airport, so I switch it with my laneige water sleeping mask that already almost run-out. Laneige sleeping mask only contains 90ml, so yeah, I totally can save my heimish from the security guy at the airport. You can try this with other products too. Just remember it cannot exceed 100ml.

All your liquid stuff must be put in a transparent and resealable bag, so if anything goes wrong, the security just gonna take a look comfortably.

Third, about the outfits. Of course, while traveling, we want to look stunning and fabulous. We cannot ruin our change to get good photos, right? It is time for mix and match!!

You can bring 3 sets of outfits, but make sure, that you can mix and match all these outfits. People usually will not notice if you give extra detail to your every outfit. (maybe I will make another post to show you how I mix and match my outfits)

Fourth, what about our hair tools??? Can I bring my hair straightener? or curler?

As I researched, we can bring our hair tools, can be falt iron, curling wand, or else, as long as it does not have butane cartridge inside it.

What is butane cartridge? It is basically a gas cartridge that can trigger explosion or damage within the plane.

How to know whether our hair tools contain it or not? If your hair tools still need electrical power cord to be turned on ( not like you charge it and you can turn it on anytime you want ), then you are safe. Your hair tools can be brought to the plane.

But, you also need to have it cover.

Last, just to make sure, you cannot bring more than 7kg for carry-on baggage. Thus, I suggest you to check the weight before you go to airport. Because, I always feel like what I bring is not much, it will not exceed 7 kg. But, surprise bitch! At the airport, it already reaches 8 kg. The problem might not come from your stuff, but your carrier. There are many heavy carrier that weight almost 2 kg. You must be careful for this. Even 1 kg for your stuff can mean a lot!
